5 Questions to Ask Your Pest Control Service Provider

So you’ve got a bug problem. Or at least you think you have a bug problem. Any time you see a little creepy crawly critter, though, it ‘bugs’you, so it is hard to tell the extent of your infestation.

Either way you’ve decided to call your local pest control service provider.

When choosing pest control services, you can be as big of a ‘pest’ as you’d like to be, as there is no shortage of companies professing to be the best.

Here’s a list of questions you may consider asking when picking which pest control service provider is right for you.

  1. Ask about licensing - The company will be spraying potentially dangerous chemicals all around your house-- you want someone that is licensed by the state to do so!
  2. Ask about procedures- How does the company spray? What chemicals do they use? Are they safe for children and pets? Ask the company to tell you what their procedure would be if they were to come treat your house.
  3. Ask about guarantees - Does the company have a guarantee, and if so, what does it include? Some pest control services guarantee additional services are free if you see pests after the first spray. Make sure you understand what the company is guaranteeing in their services.
  4. Ask about price and contracts - The pest control service provider should consult with you and discuss the problem in depth, so they understand exactly what they will be doing. Once they do, ask about the specific price. If the company asks you to sign a contract, make sure you understand exactly what is said in the contract.
  5. Ask for references - If the company is a reputable company, they should be able to give you references of people who will support the quality of their work. Ask for a list of references from former clients.
